Dear LWML Sisters,

The members of the SID LWML Board bring greetings in the name of Jesus our Savior.

Advent is a time when we prepare for the coming of our King.  A star shone bright to illuminate the way to the humble stable where he was born. This star lead the Wise Men, carrying their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, to the manger where he lay.  The Wise Men were the first Gentiles to acknowledge or show Jesus as “King”.  That is what Epiphany means, to show or make known.  This act of worship by the Wise Men was the first indication that Jesus came for all people, all nations, all races, and that the word of God would go out into the world.

Just like the Wise Men, we hope that your society can begin planning for special Epiphany gifts during the upcoming Holiday Season to show the joy of Jesus to everyone in our lives. We encourage our societies to give a special gift to commemorate Christ’s call to the Gentiles. Acknowledging Matthew’s writing of the Great Commission “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19a), we pray your society, thru sending an Epiphany gift, will support the urgency to spread God’s Word to all nations throughout the world.   Gifts should be sent to the District Financial Secretary, Judy Guebert, 8509 Sunset Lane, Red Bud, IL  62278.

May you be blessed as we prepare for the upcoming Advent and Christmas Seasons.

In service to the King,

                                                  Miriam
