Dear LWML Sisters in Christ,
“HIS STEADFAST LOVE ENDURES FOREVER!” is the theme for our 39th Biennial SID LWML Convention.
Our theme is based on Psalm 100:5 (NIV) “For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.” The societies of the Upper Kaskaskia Zone invite you
to attend this convention on Friday and Saturday September 28 & 29, 2018. All activities will take place at CHRIST OUR ROCK LUTHERAN HIGH SCHOOL, 9545 Shattuc Road, Centralia, IL. 62801. Registration
on Saturday begins at 7:00 AM with opening worship service at 8:30 AM. There will be a morning fellowship with coffee, juice, and lots of home-made goodies. This will be served until about 8:20 AM.
This convention is going to be a celebration of our District LWML’s 75th anniversary. We want to look at God’s abundant blessings that have brought us to this point in time, and we will pray that HE gives us the faith to continue trusting HIS blessings for the future. We plan to do this with power point presentations, banner displays, maybe even modeling era clothing, singing, reflections by past District Presidents, mission speakers from the decades, and our YWRs to look at and point us to the future. National LWML Vice President of Christian Life, Jennifer Huecker, will bring us greetings and the latest news from the national LWML. Jennifer is a farm wife from central Missouri, so she will feel right at home here in Southern Illinois.
Friday evening activities and fellowship will also take place at the high school. Activities will begin at 7:00 PM and end with devotions about 9:00 pm.

DELEGATES --------- IMPORTANT ---------- PLEASE READ
Descriptions of proposed mission grants and resolutions, officer candidate resumes will be e-mailed to
each delegate by August 15th. If you do not have e-mail, these things will be mailed to you. If you DO
NOT receive these items (by e-mail or snail mail) by August 25th, please call Ruth Ann Arbeiter at 618-763-4635 or Deb Albers at 618-978-3770. Well informed delegates help make a more efficient convention. The time allotted to reviewing the proposed grants at convention will be minimal. There will be the special convention edition of the Newsletter coming in late July/early August. This will also contain all this information. This special edition newsletter will be on the website: sidlwml.org and will be emailed to the person in your society that receives the regular quarterly newsletters.
Convention Manuals will NOT be mailed to delegate - you will receive your manual when you register the day of convention.
INGATHERING FOR CONVENTION: Our ingathering will be for Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School. The following items are needed by the school - cash for computers, reams of copy paper, Kleenex, dry erase markers, and hand sanitizer.
NEW ITEM FOR THIS CONVENTION!!!!!!!!!!! “MITE MARKET 2018”
We will have a “Mite Market”. Any society, zone or individual who wishes to bring something to “sell” may do so, provided all monies earned go to the new Mite goal for the 2018-2020 biennium. So, for instance, if your ladies make jellies or sell candles, you may wish to bring a few items that fit on a 4-foot section of table. The items must be priced, and you may set up Friday evening at 6 PM or Saturday morning between 7-8 AM and all booths must be cleaned up directly after convention is adjourned. Be creative! Your “mission” is to raise mites for the new grants to be selected that weekend.
Looking forward to seeing lots of you in September at CORLHS, as we celebrate 75 years and counting!
We are blessed to be serving you,
Ruth Ann Arbeiter Norma Tucker
